What is a BLOB? |
|
BLOB is the abbreviation of "Binary Large OBject". BLOBs are used in databases to store arbitrary binary data (e.g. photos, executables, maps, etc) in the database. TGeoDB stores additional information about the contents of a BLOB ("meta information") along with the BLOB. Thus you may store additional information such as index keywords, captions, etc.
The meta information is automatically retrieved together with the BLOB.
