Registered and Shareware Copies

Question:

I loaded the registered version from the SDL update area, however it seems that the downloaded software is a shareware copy.

Answer:

You can be assured that any copy obtained from our update server is registered. The most common reason for this problem is that there are several copies of the software (some shareware, some registered) lurking somewhere on your hard disk, and the linker/project paths point to an unregistered copy.

Hint: If you are using a release greater than or equal to 8.1 you won't face these problems at all, since from release 8.1 on the shareware has been replaced by the Light Edition. When upgrading from a shareware release below 8.1 to any release greater than or equal to 8.1, however, you have to re-enter your hint text in order to get rid of the nag hint. This is due to the fact that Delphi and C++Builder store the nag hints in the DFM file(s) of your project.
