The keyword /ORIGIN designates the origin of the data. With any data record this keyword should be set only once (during its very first creation) in order to ensure the possibility of track-keeping. The first part of the origin (OrgLib) designates the origin of that entry (some library, laboratory, or organization), the second part (OrgNum) defines an identification number within the source of the data. The following parameters of OrgLib have been pre-defined:

C-MASSLIB C-LIB of MassLib
M-MASSLIB M-LIB of MassLib
I-NIST NIST-library (version August 1992)
U-UNKNOWN unknown origin
W-WILEY Wiley registry of mass spectral data
